If someone is watching netflix then playing is impossible, and someone is almost always streaming video somewhere.
I've tried this powerline adapter which doesn't help much and a wireless card in my PC but that doesn't help either, I'm on the other side of the house so an actual ethernet cable to the main router is out of the question. I'll be back in college in 5ish weeks so if I can't get it to work then that'll be okay, but I would really like to be able to play. I know i'm trying to make magic out of this terrible internet (We live in rural New Mexico and are 300feet too far from being able to get fiber optics), but I really want to play Counterstrike and I work 6 days of the week, so I can't really stay up late to play. Wirelessly, there's a laptop and a PS3, two tablets, a phone, and a 3ds.
Then that goes to my room where I have it plugged the secondary router (buffalo one), which is then connected to my PC and my little brothers PC. My current setup goes like this, main router is connected to internet, then has two ethernet cables, one to parents computer and one to a powerline adapter. I have my QoS set up like this (All of the ones set to premium are either my computer in some shape, I've tried to make it work various ways, or the secondary router). Here is the breakdown of why it all goes wrongThe ISP will make sure the data transfer rate between them and you is what they promise, but the data transfer rate between them and wherever you are actually downloading data from might be MUCH lower. I also have this router if it would be best to switch. To those complaining that their internet service provider isn't giving them what they promised. This is my current router and firmware version, I have not messed with dd-wrt in years so I might be a bit rusty.
